About The Bag

The mantra for sustainability is Reduce Reuse Recycle. We design our accessories to be durable and not dated so it can be worn over multiple years. There is a certain nostalgia associated with clothing, shoes, accessories that last a long time. We may choose to store them away for a few years but its something we can always go back to. Our bags can be flattened out and we have provided a little extra material at the base of the handles so that they can be bent inside the bag for easy storage.

Traditionally this style of bag was made in Jute and is not a durable material because the material starts to crumble. Hence we have used a high gauge canvas 16 to 18oz 100% cotton canvas, that is not as heavy as the Dior canvas and limited the embroidery to keep the weight of the bag under 700 gms.

We have provided one magnetic closure so if the bag topples over, the contents will mostly stay in the bag. We have lined this bag with 100% cotton fabric which will increase the durability of the bag, since the inside of the bag experiences more friction due to its contents

The popularity of the Book Tote and the slew of Luxury fashion houses releasing their own version of a Canvas tote. Sadly luxury fashion houses are not interested in making these bags Vegan

This is an expensive bag to make and other brands inspired by the Book Tote DO NOT offer real embroidery to the customers. They use a raised jacquard fabric that is a polyester cotton mix. Those bags are fast fashion, copying a print and a trend.

We are sticking to classic design principles like Paisley, Flowers, Houndstooth so that the bags age well and the wearer does not feel dated when taking their totes out of storage. Keeping in mind global acceptability we have started with The Daisy bag that is similar to the daisy print used by Oscar De La Renta, the Poppy Bag is similar to the print used by Dolce and Gabbana and the Red Hearts bag is similar to a popular version of the Dior Book Tote. However, hearts are there every Valentine’s day, Poppies are taken out every year in different countries to commemorate the fallen soldiers during WWII and daisy remains one of the most popular flowers and names for girls year after year.

We will make our paisley design available in a different colour every year and Houndstooth is a classic that never ages. Our bags are lighter, lined, have a magnetic closure, have D rings for additional straps if needed, have a handle with 7.5 inch drop, made from similar durable and sustainable materials and best of all are vegan
